File Transfers

Our preferred technology for sending and receiving files is SFTP.

SFTP provides secure, encrypted transfer of files and is supported on a wide range of platforms by a number of free and open-source clients.

Sending files to us

If you need to send (push) files to us securely, please use the following details:

  • Hostname: pgl-gw-1.pentagull.co.uk
  • Port: 22
  • Protocol: SFTP

We support either public key or username/password authentication. To use public key authentication you will need to generate your own key pair and send us your public key. Please don't share your private key with us as this should be kept secure. Your public key can safely be sent via unencrypted means such as email.

If you wish to use username/password authentication, please let us know and we will arrange to securely send you your credentials.

We only allow SFTP access from authorised IP addresses so please let us know the IP address or range of addresses that you will use to initiate the transfer to us.

Receiving files from us

If we are required to push files to you, please let us know the hostname, port and protocol you wish us to use, along with your authentication/public key requirements.

Our file transfers will come from 52.56.122.75 so please ensure this IP is allowed in your firewall.
